The Estierra CD-ROM

The Estierra CD-ROM is an excellent bargain for several reasons:

  • Eleven Programs. The CD contains two versions of Estierra, plus nine other executable packages. This gives you everything you need to model terrains in a variety of situations without searching the internet and waiting for files to download.
     
  • Installation/Executable Versions. The CD contains both installation versions of each program and special "ready-to-run" versions versions that can be be executed directly from the CD. This can be very useful when you are traveling or using an outside computer.
     
  • Over 100 DEM Files. The CD currently includes 97 DEM files from nine different states. (More are being added all the time.)
     
  • Terrain Models and Overlays. There is also a variety of pre-built terrain models, topographic map images, aerial photographs, and background images.
     
  • DEM Tools. The CD contains recent versions of WinZip, and IZArc; programs that are essential for working with downloaded DEM data.
     
  • Latest Version of DirectX. The CD also has a copy of the latest versions of the Microsoft DirectX installation package for Win98/2000 and XP.
     
  • Over 400 megabytes. Currently, there are more than 400 megabytes of programs and information for a total of nearly 500 files on the CD. Even if all this information were on the internet, it would require more than 16 hours to download on a 56K modem.
     
  • The Very Latest Software. Each CD-ROM is burned at the time the software is ordered. This means you always get the latest versions of all the Estierra software and support materials. The CD-ROM is also updated with each new release of Estierra and will include more DEM files as I accumulate them.
