Repairing Compass Values

The Compass section allows you to repair compass values. If you are using backsights, you can repair both the Back and Forward compass readings separately. In order to activate the process of repairing compass values, you should enable the “Repair Forward Compass” or “Repair Back Compass checkboxes. The Compass Values can be repaired in several ways:

 

Entered As Degrees Was Really Grads. This option corrects the situation where you have entered a compass angle in degrees when it was actually measured in the cave as grads.

 

Entered As Grads Was Really Degrees. This option corrects the situation where you have entered a compass angle in grads when it was actually measured in the cave as degrees.

 

Rotate Forward (Back) Azm 180 Degrees. This option rotates the specific compass angle by 180 degrees

 

Derive Foresight From Backsight, Derive Backsight From Foresight. These options derive the one compass angle from the other by rotating it by 180 degrees.

 

Formula. This option allows you to correct the compass reading by applying a formula.
