ODBC. ODBC stands for “Open Data Base Connectivity” and it is a method of connecting any database with any program. ODBC uses a special driver for each type of database. The driver is responsible for communicating between programs and the database files. In Windows, the operating system handles ODBC and manages all the drivers, aliases and connection to databases.
