Templates. You can also use the fields in an existing database as template for a new database. This option saves the time of having to tediously enter dozens of fields for a new database. For example, if you are using the same database fields several different caves, this option allows you to copy the fields to each new file. To use this option, simply click on the "Use Existing DB Fields" button and select an existing database. The field definition will be automatically copied into your field list.

Once you have entered all the fields and table name information, select the "OK" button and the new database will be created. CaveBase will also open your new database and displays one empty row in the grid that is ready to accept new data.
