Loading Images

Importing Images. To import an image, select "File->Bitmap->Load Bitmap" from the menu bar. You can load all common typess of bitmaps including bmp, jpg, jpeg, gif, png, tiff, tif, tga, pcx, lbm, ico, wmf, and emf. If the image is especially large, Compass may be slow manipulating the image, particularly when it has to rotate the image. As a result, after the image is loaded, Compass will give you a chance resize, trim and adjust the image with the Image Editor.

Removing Bitmaps. The bitmap can be removed by selecting the "File->Bitmap->Remove Bitmap" option from the menu bar.
