Fill Mode

Viewing complex cave passages can be confusing because it is difficult to see which passages are deep and which passages are shallow. For this reason, the Viewer allows you to color the Filled Polygon Mode and the Filled Spline Mode so that each passage is colored in a way that makes them easier to see and understand. There are three possible modes:

FillMode

1. Fixed Color. In this mode, all passages are filled with the same color. The default color is gray, but it can be changed to any color you want using the Color Setting Dialog.

2. Color By Depth. In this mode, the passages are colored according to the depth of the passage below the entrance. The colors used are the same colors available in regular Color-By-Depth mode.

3. Color By Distance. In this mode, the passages are colored based on the distance from the from the screen. For example, nearby passages may appear lighter and far away passages darker. This gives the illusion of depth to image. You have a choice of several different color schemes. The schemes are set in the Distance Dialog.
