DEPTH BARS
Depth Bars give a visual and numerical representation of the depth of the cave. COMPASS now has six different types of depth bars that can be plotted on the screen and printed on you the printer. Here are examples of the many options:
This images show the simplest type of depth bar. It is monochrome and so it only works in Profile mode.
There are many options that effect the way the depth bars are displayed. The image to the right shows some of the options. The two depth bars on the left show how you can control the number of "tick-marks" and thus the spacing between values. The two depth bars to right show "modulo" spacing. Here the two bars show 100 foot and 200 foot spacing. The bar on the far right also adds the elevation of the top and bottom of the cave.

This image shows the depth that is available when the cave is colored by depth. Since the color-depth information is displayed in profile mode, the depth bar can also be displayed in profile mode.
The final image shows the kind of depth bar that is available when you are coloring the cave by survey date.
