LIVE 3D Cave Models

This web page displays live 3D modeled images of caves on the internet. The images use sophisticated modeling techniques including Gouraud Shading, spline surfaces, directional lighting, texturing and high speed animation. This page also has information on how you can create your own web page to display live 3D cave images on the internet.

No Image? There are two common causes:

Installation Instructions

1. No VRML Plug-In. If you don't see a cave image in the window above, it may mean  that you don't have a VRML plug-in installed in your browser. Follow the instructions to the right to install my favorite VRML viewer.

2. XP Service Pack-2. If you are using Win XP SP-2,  Internet Explorer may block the VRML Viewer under some circumstances. If this is the case simply click on the error message bar and select the "Allow Blocked Content" option. Click here for more information about working with SP2.

1. Install. Click on the icon below to install:

2. Trouble Shooting.  If you have trouble installing the VRML Plug-In under Windows XP, particularly if you are using Service Pack-2, choose the Manual Installation option.
3. Missing Effects. If you don't see a full passage models or if other effects seem to me missing, right click on the image and under the preferences option, choose the R98 Renderer.
